INDIA IS A resources rich country. It is excelling in almost every field today and its citizens are proud of its achievements.
After Independence, the country has made progress in many areas - like removal of unemployment, population control, poverty alleviation, technical education, increasing literacy rate etc. It has also achieved remarkable success in the field of Science and Technology, which has greatly increased energy production in the country.
No doubt, it is on a steady path towards becoming a developed country. But, there is a word, which creates fear in the minds of people.
The word is Terrorism.
Why high alerts are announced all over an area when some festival or some special day approaches? Why are the people advised to take care of themselves while moving out? What scares people from going to a public place? Why special security arrangements are made for crowded places?
There is common answer to all these questions and that is – the possibility of A Terrorist Attack.
Whether it is Republic Day or Independence Day or Diwali, there is always the possibility of a terrorist attack.
As Diwali approaches, we realise the effects of terrorism that had targeted the Ajmer Sharif few days back. Just after that, there was another bomb blast at one of the cinema halls in Ludhiana.
Like every time, this time also the matter has been handed over for a high-level police inquiry and the trail has been shown leading to terrorist groups. Like every time, sketches of the people involved in the incident will be made. They will be published in the newspaper and police will arrest people resembling those sketches. Slowly and gradually, the matter would either get closed or it will slow down.
Is it going to be same every time? Is the government not going to take effective measures to curb terrorism? Are innocent people going to suffer every time?
At this time, the Indian government is trying to finalise a deal regarding nuclear power with America. Why is it not possible for both countries to work jointly to remove terrorism? It is known to everyone that America has also experienced a terrible terrorist attack in which there was a huge loss of life and property.
This is the need of the hour that action should be taken in this regard. Otherwise, India might keep on losing its people, who possess essential manpower and talent to serve the nation
